Q. My son's bar mitzvah is on Chol HaMoed Pesach. Can we order an "oxygen bar" for the event?
A. An oxygen bar consists of a few sections. The first is an oxygen concentrator which filters air to remove nitrogen, so that it can pump out "pure" oxygen. That oxygen goes to bottles (diffusers) that contain water and essential oils or some other liquid with a pleasant aroma. Attached to each of these bottles is a tube (cannula) which directs the aroma-laden air/oxygen leaving the bottle into the person's nose.
One may only use an oxygen bar on Pesach if they can determine that the essential oils or other aromatic liquids added to the bottles are free of chametz.
