Q. Do you know which quail eggs are kosher?


A. One of the world's experts on the kosher status of different birds is Rabbi Chaim Loike, who works for the OU. In his articles and books he notes that many species of quail are kosher, but there are others which are not. Therefore, he recommends that, "At this point quail eggs should not be consumed unless it is possible to verify that the eggs are indeed those of a kosher quail specie."
