Q: Is it possible to use a coffeemaker with a timer on Shabbos? One of our wedding gifts was a coffeemaker with a build-in timer. Obviously, this assumes that everything has been prepared Erev Shabbos and that the built-in timer brews the coffee Shabbos morning.
A: Rav Schwartz said that we should follow the ruling of Tzitz Eliezer 2:6 who prohibits this practice.
